The Poole Passion was first performed in 2009, with a hugely diverse and intergenerational group made up of both amateur and professional artists who come together to dramatically re-enact the last days of Jesus Christ. The Poole Passion are an independent community group who aim to perform once every two years. Throughout the year, they encourage groups to come together for additional projects, including radio plays and smaller re-enactments.
In 2016, The Poole Passion was filmed and shown on BBC’s Songs of Praise. For this project O T Event Technicians were approached by the BBC to provide a lighting package for two different locations. We also supplied extensive cabling and rigging equipment. To achieve this project. The large-scale production meant that we had to be considerate of many different aspects of the design, creating a highly majestic scheme that would be just as effective on camera. Our creative team had to stay true to The Poole Passion’s original concept but also establish the quality that the BBC required.
